Bill Underwood was Chief Professional Officer of the United Way of the Sacramento Area for 23 years, and is a past chair of the California Society of Association Execs, the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, and the Business Volunteers for the Arts.
Nationally, Bill served for ten years as a member of the United Way of America's Professional Advisory Council and the National Strategic Planning Committee. Bill was a member of the faculty for the University of Southern California School of Government, teaching a class on Innovation for Public and Nonprofit Organizations and is currently a board member of International Services Agency.
